Children's Cathedral

Jimmy James Greene's eight mosaics for the Utica Ave subway station incorporate drawings from hundreds of Brooklyn children that the artist grouped, arranged, and colored. Most drew images of their neighborhood--families; stores; a teacher; and children playing, reading, and singing. The station's red iron grillwork is also part of the piece. An MTA Arts for Transit project.
