“The Moses Mosaic” by David Fichter is a 40-foot-long, 16-inch-tall mosaic installed above the entrance of the Robert and Janet Moses Youth Center in Cambridge, MA. Completed in June and July 2020, the mosaic was a community project involving Cambridge youth and community members who helped arrange the mosaic tiles. The artwork celebrates the activities at the youth center and honors the legacy of Robert and Janet Moses, who were significant figures in the Civil Rights movement. The project was funded by Cambridge Arts’ FLOW grant program.
