The TSCK exterior consists of a rich array of textured and colored pre-cast panels, wood windows and screens, fabric canopies, and glass to enclose the central spaces. The Aquarium houses a 1.5 million liter tank, which is one of the largest in the Gulf region. The mud-colored ceramic of the exterior walls are inspired by traditional Kuwaiti dwellings of the past, while the tent- and sail-like structures that appear above and around the center are reminiscent of Kuwait's maritime history. The ceramic floors of the corridors incorporate Islamic art patterns, while and the walls use traditional (SADU) weaving designs. A kilometer long public promenade runs along the full length of the Center's shoreline, placing visitors in continual contact with the sea.
