The award-winning Carl A. Fields Center serves as a campus and community resource for the study and discussion of issues of equality and commonality. The project included the renovation and adaptive reuse of a campus landmark companioned with a contemporary new structure. The restored building offers community tutorial facilities, a library and resource center, seminar and program rooms, a café, and staff offices. The addition offers a new entry, catering kitchen, and an auditorium designed for music, lectures, conferences, and special events. The Carl A. Fields Center renovation and addition received numerous awards, including a BSA Education Facilities Design Award, a BSA Citation Award for Design Excellence, an AIA New England Citation Award for Design Excellence, and an AIA New Jersey Built Design Honor Award.
