The project was proposed as part of the Museum's expansion with the goal of transforming the vacant terrain surrounding the museum into a destination while acting as a connector to the Museum Park and Preserve. The project is about water and the invisible functions of watersheds and wetlands. In the process of restoring the stream, the project features a central pond with a series of kiosks located throughout the site each providing information about the wetlands. The piece was not installed as Mary Miss designed it, but a version of the pond was built several years later.
