Larry Kirkland collaborated with LSG Landscape Architecture on the design of Center Park at Potomac Yard, the centerpiece of the National Gateway development. Kirkland created two monumental granite monoliths each carved with a mysterious eye that looks up at the ever-changing sky. At times, the sculptures are covered by a veil of water, changing their appearance and adding a layer of movement to the work. Benches engraved with floral, faunal, and celestial imagery are sited throughout the park and invite visitors to wander through the space and spend time here. Funded by Meridian.
