Jamaica Center Station Riders, Blue

Sam Gilliam continues his interest in the boundary between sculpture and painting with this painted aluminum wall work that blurs the line between the two art forms. The overall circular shape of the piece is meant to evoke movement while the colors refer in part to the subway lines that run through the station. An MTA Arts for Transit project.
