It Happened Here : St Pauls Chapel - Places Over Time

St. Paul’s Chapel opened in 1766 and has been continuously operating since then. It survived the  fire of 1776 and was where many of the founding fathers prayed including George Washington who famously went there after his inauguration on April 30, 1789.  The first public artwork commissioned for America was the Tomb of Richard Montgomery.  After September 11th St. Paul’s was the ‘Chapel that Stood’.
