Rarely do I make a drink that’s led by its garnishes, but I felt Balsley’s bold shapes in the landscape of New York City left me no choice. I love the way the laying out of bold curves and sharp lines helps reclaim nature in these public spaces.
In a rocks glass:
Add ice and top with soda. Stir. Garnish with lemon, orange, apple slices, and a sprig of rosemary.
Ginger syrup:
Simmer 1/2 cup grated fresh ginger in 2 cups water for 5 minutes. Add 2 cups white sugar, remove from heat and strain.
