The design of this branch library addresses issues of excellence and affordability in sustainable design. Impacted within a strip shopping mall the Library`s construction and material pallet quietly draw from and (re)presents the language of its retail neighbors. It`s ‘false front,` mimicking those of fledging western frontier towns, mediates between its two realities: one of a limited budget, the other of the civic presence expected in a public institution – giving the Library scale, presence, and distinction in the community.
