Kirkland suspended two large sculptures at opposite ends of the check-in hall of the vast MTR Hong Kong mass-transit station. The sculptures are constructed from more than seven miles of colored aluminum tubing, inspired by traditional Chinese bridal hairpins. The shifting abstract forms reference travel, the sun and moon, windows, birds, and graphic urban symbols.
