Migrations

The large blocks of color in Christopher Wynter's Migrations are meant to suggest different African homelands. Along with circle figures that appear throughout the piece, they evoke the notion of movement: specifically, movement in the African diaspora. An image of the abolitionist Frederick Douglass is included in the mosaic--fitting, given the station's location in Frederick Douglass Circle. This is a MTA Arts for Transit project.
