"The entrances to the building and specifically the lobby floors are the focus of my art work. I wanted to bring nature into the building and make the building belong to the park. I have selected natural stone as a medium in a limited palette of earthy colors and I have chosen leaves as a design motif - leaves and water. Stone lined ponds with leaves suspended and floating or spinning and whirling. Each area is inset in a colored concrete floor so in each lobby the "pond" is floating within the space. I wanted scale and motion or lack of motion to be part of this work but the recurring theme of circling or cycle also reminds us of the cycles of nature, the seasons and life itself." - Twyla Arthur
