'Union Square was named for the union of Bowerie Lane and Bloomingdale Road which is now Broadway.' The timeline is presented in a series of 22 panels showing the development and major events of the area. The first panel is a composition of three maps showing the native American Settlements, the Ratzer map of 1776 and the Commissioners Plan.
