The site is the east atrium of the new Denver Justice Center, where potential jurors enter the courthouse. Convergence is a diaphanous funnel-shaped filigree composed of 1,344 human profiles. (There are twelve jurors on a typical jury, and the silhouettes are multiples of twelve Denver citizens representing a variety of ages and ethnicities.) While visible from all parts of the five-story space, the sculpture is most compellingly experienced from the ground floor entry. Here, looking up, one is immersed in an optical vortex as the ascending silhouettes converge and overlap.
