Designed as the headquarters for Walt Disney`s Imagineering Division, this powerful and dramatic assembly of buildings sets the tone for the new Celebration community outside of Orlando. Inspired by the principal architecture and planning of the Campo Santo in Pisa, Italy, this complex comprises three office buildings arranged around an obelisk and set atop a raised grass lawn. Each building surrounding this “piazza” is of a different height, volume, and material finish so that there is both unity and variety in the composition of form. While distinct from one another, the buildings share a common architectural language in their expression of form, material, and structure.
