The artwork, Discovery, extends from the main entrance of the library along a path marked by boulders to the back of the building. There it culminates in a standing group of five massive cut stones which rise to 7 feet in height. Attached to selected stones are steel plates cut with images of the landscape and community. According to artist Will Larson, “The intention was to lead the viewer on a path of exploration to a point of discovery.” He chose to work with limestone because it is indigenous to central Texas and coordinates well with the library building designed by Stanley Architects.
